. History and origins
The history of Burmese belongs to the origins of the kingdom of Siam, the ancient name of Thailand. It was considered a sacred animal, a companion to the monks. European settlers and American sailors brought this ancestor back from the lands of Southeast Asia. In 1930, a cat of this breed was brought back to San Francisco. A few crosses with cats from Thailand allowed us to set the Burmese traits we know today.

A medium-sized cat, Burma is distinguished by wearing a short-haired dress with a sepia pattern (or sable color called). It is characterized by shade variations between a “color point” (specific coloring of the tips of the legs, tail and face) and a uniform coat. The color of the dress is usually a shade of brown.
It is a strong cat with well-developed bones and muscles. The eyes are round, large, wide apart and shiny with a color that draws in gold or copper.
