All Cat Breeds Assur O’Poil – Savannah
. History and origins
Savannah is a native of the United States.
It is the result of a cross between the Serval and a domestic cat in 1994, designed by Karen Sausman in California. It is physically similar to the Serval in size and color, and the latter as a 15 kg wild feline that lives in Africa and is used by some peasants for hunting. It represents the fulfilled dream of getting a feline with a unique charm that combines the wild look with the adaptability of the domestic cat.
The Savannah is attracting more and more people, and this very young breed is currently in the “New Breeds” category.
. Character and competencies
The Savannah is considered a domestic cat, thanks to its very familiar character: Sociable and affectionate, it adapts perfectly to family life from the first generations.
Despite its notable size, it retains the characteristics of the familiar cat; he will love lying on your couch for hours.
However, he is still a predator, and has developed a hunting instinct. So he will understand that he has an outside, and be able to roam free.
While we hear more and more about it, it is a very rare breed, which explains its very high cost.
