. History and origins
Native to the United States, the first Laperm (Curly, female) was discovered in Oregon in 1982. The characteristic of the curly coat is the result of a natural genetic mutation. Its name refers to the “perm”, the curved shape of the hair in hairdressing.
Laperm has been approved since 1966, but is extremely rare, even in its country of origin.
It can have short or medium length hair.
. Character and competencies
The Laperm has a fair and affectionate disposition. He seeks the touch and attention of his master, especially to enjoy hugging, or rubbing on the shoulders of his human companions.
It is a social, progressive cat, which adapts very well to the life of the apartment. Strangely enough, he constantly analyzes his surroundings, to keep him informed of everything that is happening in his house.

● Average height: 35 cm at the withers
● Average weight: 2 to 5 kilos.
What makes it unique is LaPerm fur. It is all curved, like shaved and formal waves. It is very soft and the undercoat is not very dense. The coat can be short or mid-long. The curl is more noticeable in cats with medium-long hair. The inside of the ears, eyelashes and mustaches can be curled. The head is triangular with rounded contours. The eyes are large, oval and slightly shaped almonds. The body is balanced at medium height and may present a ruff.
. Health and care
Strong cat, the Laperm requires no certain maintenance and little hair loss. It is not prone to disease.
