Each cat breeds Assur O’Poil – Ocicat
. History and origins
The Ocicat cat breed is from the United States. It is a trivial result of a cross between Abyssinian and Siamese. The breeder would like to thank this crossing Siamese tabby. His experiment succeeds but the litter cat has an original dress reminiscent of ocelot, a wild cat from Central and South America. The American Shorthair will later be integrated into the Ocicat breeding program, a name given to “ocelot” and “cat” breeding.
The Ocicat breed was officially recognized in 1984. Although established in the United States and Northern Europe, its evolution remains trivial in France to this day.
